utah goodness

after Vegas, we headed to Kenab, Utah. super random location, but it was purposeful so we could access Zion National park easily. hotels in this area are expensive…so we pushed the limits and stayed a little bit away from the park. our hotel had breakfast so we took advantage of their waffles! and we got to sit in a hot tub with a bunch of other random adults. that was wonderful haha.

on our way to Zion, we stopped at a few state parks. the first was Moqui Cave in Kenab, UT. that was actually quite fascinating. we learned some of the history of the cave and even met the grandson of the family who currently “owns” the cave. Adam inquired about purchasing the cave for himself but they drive a hard bargain. they also had some dinosaur tracks in the cave! that was pretty awesome - Adam is a major fan of dinosaurs.

the second was coral pink sand dunes state park. I only wish we had more time to do some driving on the dunes with some buggies! next time for sure. the sand dunes didn’t exactly look pink, but it was really cool seeing the degradation of the sandstone and how the weather affects the dunes. all of these states have the best natural landscapes! we have really loved seeing such different views and learning about how different nature can be in other areas.

heading into Zion was a unique trip in and of itself! the surrounding area in Utah is unbelievably gorgeous. we didn’t have enough time to do any hiking, so we opted for the shuttle instead. it gave us the best view of the different parts of the park. this will definitely be a place we return to in the future in order to fully experience the trails of the park.

after all this traipsing around, we headed to Sedona, Arizona.

also, most of the photos below are from our drive! the views out here are truly incredible.
